My usually introvert son enjoys his lessons with Joshua. He is able to get him to open up and get the best out of the session. As a parent I find it easy to work with Joshua. Josh has been working with my son on his A level Computer Science. He is a fantastic tutor and has developed a good rapport with my son who thinks he’s really great - in my experience if a student respects their tutor they will be more willing to engage and that’s certainly what’s happened with Josh! My husband and I thought we’d look into a bit of tutoring for our eldest son who is in his final year of GCSEs. He specified Computer Science, I googled and found Sandeman Tutoring. Josh got back to my enquiry quickly and explained that if we wanted, Sean could have one2one tutoring with him for Computer Science and for a little bit extra also have a group tutor session in English or Maths and for just £10 on top of that have both English and Maths group tutoring.
At the moment Sean is doing one2one with Josh and an English group session with Ritchie.
I asked Sean how it’s going so far;

My son started A-level computer science with Josh at Sandeman tutoring a few months ago. He has a very friendly teaching style and always takes guidance on what my son wants to cover. Some topics are quite complex & Josh is very good at breaking it down and explaining the theory in ways that are much easier to understand. The sessions have greatly improved my sons confidence in the subject and he found his last few tests at school 'easy' which for me as a parent is always great to hear. It's awful when your child is struggling, and mine was, but Josh has given him the support he really needed and I can't even put into words how grateful I am. The mock exams are only a few months away but with Joshs support, I know my son will do well. I would highly recommend Sandeman tutoring to anyone looking for a tutor to support their child!!!

Josh has recently started tutoring my son in maths and english. We weren't sure how effective it would be as it was online but from the first lesson my son has enjoyed every lesson and look forward to the next one! Josh is brilliant at engaging and encouraging to reach the best of his ability. We are very happy with Josh's work. He is approachable and has listened intently to me as a parent which was important to me to explain my expectations. He has been flexible in arranging lessons. We highly recommend Josh to anyone who looks for extra help and bring in intrest to learning.

Josh is an excellent tutor who has made each lesson engaging and enjoyable for my son.
My son has thoroughly enjoyed science and computer science, and is more confident in many areas that he once found difficult thanks to Josh making it easier for him to understand. I have seen so much progress in his learning/understanding since starting tuition.

What a fantastic find! Phoned up Joshua in desperate need as my daughter is sitting her GCSE’s this year and has lost confidence in her Maths ability. A couple of the topics she’s just not been able to understand and she was dreading her Mocks which are in a few weeks.
Straight away he managed to sort us out with a brilliant Tutor called Chloe. She’s narrowed down what help my daughter needs and Chloe’s methods are amazing! The improvements are almost instantaneous. I really can’t praise Joshua and Chloe enough.

Josh has been very helpful and supportive of my son during his A level studies. Josh went through the syllabus with him working out the areas where he needed help and planned the sessions around this. Due to his extensive knowledge, Josh is able to explain things in a way that my son understands which has not only improved his confidence but also his ability within the subject. My son seems more able to stay on track, focused and motivated. Josh has and still is an excellent expense.

We decided to homeschool my daughter age 11 as we felt the school environment was holding her back.
My daughter has been having one to one Maths with Josh since January and she has developed very quickly and is already doing work that would normally be a year ahead to what she would be learning at senior school! She loves her sessions with josh and feels comfortable asking questions when she doesn’t understand something.
We highly recommend Josh and will be using him throughout my daughters education.

Joshua is an absolutely amazing tutor. He has the ability to connect to the student immediately and make them feel at ease. He is also flexible and tailors lessons to the students requirement. My son liked Computer Science but he missed quite a few lessons at school due to circumstances and was falling behind.Just after few lessons with Joshua, he is so much more confident and really enjoys the lessons.

My daughter had tutoring to help prepare her for school entrance exams and she had two fantastic tutors. Ritchie helped her with English and verbal reasoning, as well as interview preparation. Will helped her with math. Both tutors made her familiar with the formats of the papers she should expect and tailored the sessions to what she needed to practice. The sessions made her feel well prepared and confident for the exams and she received offers from both schools she applied to, with a small scholarship for one of them. I would happily recommend both tutors.

Josh has just started working with my son on his ICT A-level course. As this is the only formal education he's currently receiving, it was imperative that we found a suitable tutor. Out of all the subjects and tutor's we have, my son looks forward to his ICT sessions the most! Josh makes learning fun and his encouraging approach makes for a productive session. My daughter has received science tutoring from Steph for just over a month now. The fact that my child looks forward to meeting with her and has a smile on her face when a session is complete because she actually understands the concepts and is confident with the material, is a win in my book. My daughter is dyslexic and Josh found us a tutor that understands the dyslexic brain and how to best teach a student that learns differently. That effort speaks volumes towards his ability and drive to want to help students achieve their full potential. We have never done online tutoring and i was a little apprehensive about how effective it would be vs face to face. I needn't have worried, Josh is very engaging using this medium and my son doesn't even moan about having this session last thing on a friday! My son is 14 and Josh really knows how to communicate at their level. It is giving him confidence as he learns more and is actually enjoying it. I would recommend him to anyone just wish he taught other subjects as well!!

My 12 year old son has really benefited from his maths tuition over the past three months. Joshua is extremely patient and supportive in his approach which has allowed significant progress to be made in a relatively short space of time and our son’s school has informed us of that he will be moving up one, possibly two sets as a result. Josh has recently started tutoring my 12 year old daughter in programming and ks3 Computing.
D has multiple complex needs which affect her ability to learn as she can become easily distracted, confused and exhausted. Josh has listened intently to me as a parent (which is so important) and not only been able to keep D's attention throughout her hour lesson, but made it her favourite time of the week.
D had some bad experiences at school so is always nervous with teachers and new people putting demands on her, but she enjoys the lesson so much she is at ease within minutes, talking non stop and laughing at the games/characters she is being supported to create with Josh.
There is a clear goal/outcome for D to achieve in each session but she feels no pressure throughout as he is happy to repeat steps as many times as necessary for her to grasp the concept. Josh is very calm and reassuring when D feels she has made a mistake and full of praise for each step she takes.
D enjoys her lessons so much she wants to practice what she has learnt even when the lesson ends. I would highly recommend Josh as a tutor.

I'm going into year 11 in September, I've had around 4-5 sessions with Josh this summer. My confidence is already beginning to improve. Josh has gone through some maths higher paper questions ranging from grade 5-7. He has given me easier ways to access the answer, via shortcuts, but overall gain an understanding of what the questions ask of me.
