I am an experienced, qualified teacher who was a Head of Department in a secondary school. Furthermore, I also teach Maths for KS2 and SATS, KS3 and GCSE, Computer Science, ICT and Programming to students in Year 7 through to A-level in and around St Ives, Cambridge.
I am experienced in a number of 11+ and 13+ entrance tests for numerous schools. In addition, I have tutored in these subjects since 2014 and my students have all attained at least their target grade or higher with an average attainment record which is 15-20% higher than the national average, the highest being 90% of students achieving or surpassing their target grade in Computer Science.
I am experienced in working with students with SEND, ADD, ADHD and Gifted and Talented. My passion for teaching is evident; I am constantly looking for innovative ways of teaching students.
Along with innovative teaching, i am an examiner for multiple exam boards so have a perfect understanding of what is required to get your son/daughter the best possible grades.

I have been a qualified English teacher for over 20 years and I still consider working with young people in my everyday life an honour and privilege. I have taught in a number of Secondary Schools, and led three successful English Departments.
In addition, I have secured three Senior Leadership positions and delivered national conferences on how to improve student performance at GCSE and ‘A’ Level English Literature and Language. I am currently an examiner for two exam boards, and have written teacher guides on the poetry component for GCSE English Literature, in the United Kingdom.
I have had extensive experience of one to one tutoring, not just at GCSE and ‘A’ level, but also in teaching English as an additional language, and preparing students for 11+ and other entrance examinations.
My ethos is fully student centred towards examination success. By talking to students and parents, I establish very high expectations, focussing every session towards these.

I am a qualified teacher, as well as teaching and tutoring maths for several years to a range of abilities and ages. I am well equipped with preparing and executing mathematical exams, which allows me to transfer my knowledge across to the students I teach.
This passion to teach and develop pupils stemmed from my time as a Warfare Officer within Royal Navy. Long, challenging leadership exercises required dogged determination and a will to succeed, all of which prepared me for my deployment to the Far East and entrusted with the lives of 400 people on a 20,000 tonne warship, whilst also keeping fit and completing my studies.
This required careful time management, precise planning and a plethora of communication skills to a wide range of people, from the captain of the ship to the Junior Rates on-board.
These attributes prepared me well for being responsible for the lives of young enthusiastic students eager to succeed and as a result, I successfully enrolled into teaching.

I am an English and Media Teacher with seven years experience teaching a range of ages throughout my jourmey.
These include KS2 to KS5, as well as GSCE and A-level prep across numerous exam boards to students nationwide.
My subject specialities are Creative Writing, Media Studies and TV script writing. I am a published author, poet, consultant and writer for a TV production company where I mentor a number of younger writers.
I have extensive experience of tutoring, mentoring and teaching children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and in particular Autism, Aspergers and Dyslexia amongst others.
